Failure
A human life is failing
While a human heart is ailing.
With every moment and every breath more pain than is meant to be had;
Stillness ad silence, anger and violence.
A tearful heart is ailing
Because the words and the ability to let it all out are failing.
A mind which forgets the activities of yesterday
Yet, remembers that you should have come home today…
Why aren’t you here today?
Or perhaps I have forgotten the day…
A human mind is failing
While the journeyer is ailing.
A person is ailing
Because medicine is failing.
Rhythms and functions that should never falter, should never cease
Are suddenly wavering, slowing in steady decrease.
A human body is ailing
Because their mortal body is failing.
A look at our souls, a moment of reflection.
The pain and the suffering, they are beyond all redemption.
Creating memory and a moment that are just out of reach.
Agony and longing, just what are they supposed to teach?
An emotional mind is ailing
Because a rational heart is failing.
Shadows and fog continue to dim the mind.
Clarity in this haze is so hard to find.
How can one manage to be caring without forgetting all reason and turn overbearing?
Trying to hold on before it all fades.
A thousand and one memories you’re not willing to trade.
Two lives beyond your help will continue to fail
On a journey you are not ready to trail
Left with a heart, a soul and a mind that continue to ail.
